What's GOOD?

Social GOOD: The Andean concept of Ayni or reciprocity (meaning today for me, tomorrow for you) is central to the work of Apus Peru. $20 of each trip fee is invested in Andean communities in sustainable development projects.

Environmental GOOD: Apus Peru has a number of environmental policies including recycling and partnering with local projects that benefit the environment. They also aim to ensure that all travellers are aware of how to minimise their environmental impact through their Travellers Code of Conduct and they run special discounted Clean Up Treks.

Economic GOOD: They employ local Peruvian guides and pay staff above the industry standard. Staff are sought from indigenous backgrounds and remote communities where income or opportunities for work are limited. Apus Peru also seeks to always use local products and services to support the local economy.

They have also been verified by the Rainforest Alliance - you can read more here: https://www.apus-peru.com/responsible-travel/rainforest_alliance.html
