Dates: 24-30 June 2019
Location: Bali, Indonesia
Earlybird Cost: $2,999 including all accommodations, meals, donation, workshops and activities
Day 1: Arrival in Bali
On arrival in Bali, you will be met at the airport and taken to your accommodation to relax. We will be staying in a tranquil and secluded hillside retreat that sits high up on the edge of the rich green Ayung River valley in Bali’s central foothills. In the evening, we'll have a special welcome dinner to officially mark the beginning of this experience!
Day 2: Workshop and artisan tour
After a leisurely breakfast, we will have our welcome meeting and workshop from Vallori Thomas to set the tone for the adventures ahead. In the afternoon, we’ll have the opportunity to meet talented Balinese artisans famous for their silver and gold handicrafts and intricate wood carvings.
Day 3: Travel to Manggis
Today, we will travel as a group to our second destination - a secluded, stylish seaside resort in Manggis, East Bali. This resort is a haven of serenity set amidst a coconut grove nestled between the sea and Mount Agung, Bali’s most sacred mountain. We'll have the afternoon to settle into our new resort and relax by the beautiful pool. In the evening, we'll have the opportunity to take part in a local Balinese cooking class.
Day 4: Community, culture and temple tour
Today will be all about learning more about Balinese culture. We'll visit local villages where you can learn about Hindu temple protocol, the Balinese interpretation of Hinduism in regards to ceremony ritual, and how Balinese culture has been passed down through generations. We will also visit Pura Besakih, the mother temple of Bali.
Day 5: White Sandy Beach and project day
We'll enjoy a special lunch today at White Sandy Beach, also known as Virgin Beach. In the afternoon, we'll visit the project benefiting from the donation included in your trip fee to learn more about their inspiring work.
Day 6: Workshop and spa
After a leisurely breakfast, we will have a full-day of Possibilitology with Vallori Thomas. The remainder of the day will be yours to relax at the resort and enjoy your complimentary spa treatment.
Day 7: Departure day
After our final workshop and debrief with Vallori Thomas, you will be transferred back to the airport in time for your flight home.
Every aspect of the trip has been designed to ensure that the local community, economy and environment benefit from your visit. We have partnered with two sister resorts that are proactively working to support the local community and to minimize their impact on the environment. The resorts have been certified by EarthCheck and are involved in a variety of sustainability initiatives including a Zero-Waste Policy, a coral reef conservation program, and a community recycling project to train and employ local villagers. In addition, $100 of your trip fee will go directly towards supporting a fantastic project in Bali, which you'll have the opportunity to visit during the trip.
The trip will be led by Vallori Thomas from WOW Training & Consulting and Shelley Bragg from GOOD Travel. In addition, local guides from our partner organization will be involved throughout the trip.
