Discover Hawaii Island (the big island) through the eyes of local and international artists and creatives.

Friday March 1st: Aloha and welcome to Hawaii!
On arrival into Kona airport, you will be met by a representative from GOOD Travel and taken to your accommodation. You will have the rest of the day to relax after your journey. In the evening, we'll have a special welcome dinner and trip briefing.
Saturday March 2nd: Photography workshop and Maunakea sunset
After a leisurely breakfast, we will begin the day with an Intentional Photography Workshop led by photographer Erin Carnes. In the afternoon, we will travel up Maunakea (the highest point in Hawaii) for a picnic dinner at the Historic Humuula Sheep Station. We will watch the sunset at the top of Maunakea and sip hot chocolate whilst watching the stars with a telescope.
Sunday March 3rd: Creativity workshop
The morning will be yours to sleep-in after the previous evening's adventures and to relax at the retreat center. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to take part in a creativity workshop with artist Baron Wright.
Monday March 4th: Epic Hawaii Island tour
Today will be an epic day of discovery as we wander off-the beaten path and visit Hawaii Island's most awe-inspiring sites. We will visit black sand beaches with basking sea turtles, volcanoes, waterfalls, and more! The day will be a blend of history and culture, set in the splendor of Hawaii’s nature that will change the way you see the island of Hawaii.
Tuesday March 5th: Lei making and hula workshops
The day will begin with the opportunity to learn the art of lei making from one of Kohala’s longtime master lei makers, Kumu (teacher) Audrey Veloria as she takes you on a history of lei making as well as making your own garland of love. You will also have the opportunity to take part in a Basic Hula workshop. Kumu (teacher) Mike Matsu will introduce you to the basic hula steps, hand & foot coordination and a fun basic hula. In the evening, we will have a special farewell dinner.
Wednesday March 6th: Departure

Throughout this trip we will be staying at an award-winning eco retreat center designed to be in harmony with nature. From building construction to garden design, they are involved in a range of inspiring GOOD initiatives. The retreat center is staffed by the very best of Hawaii's spa therapists, healers, cultural experts, and outdoor guides. The owners and staff work hard to share the culture and magic of Hawaii with visitors, including through a variety of workshops.
All tours and activities will take place with tour operators that have been recommended to GOOD Travel for their philosophy and values focused on sustainability. In addition, $100 of your trip fee will go towards supporting a local project. You will have the opportunity to learn more about how your donation is being used during the trip.
The trip will be led by photographer Erin Carnes from GOOD Travel and artist Baron Wright. In addition, a number of experienced local guides will be involved in various aspects of the trip.
Erin Carnes is the Creative Strategist for GOOD Travel and owner of Intentional Photography. She is an educator, photographer, athlete, traveler, creative and always looking for a new adventure. Erin has led expeditions to South Africa and Iceland with GOOD Travel in 2018. She previously led trips with National Geographic Student Expeditions for seven years, teaching photography to students all over the globe. Erin also worked for four years as a photography instructor at Mid-Pacific School of the Arts in Honolulu, Hawaii. Erin believes that, if we let them, travel, human connection and being fully present are the biggest teachers of our lives.
Baron Wright is CEO and Co-founder of CreateX Retreats Collective, a life experience company and BaronArts, a leadership and creativity development system. As a Certified Coach with over a decade of experience, he uses creativity to achieve breakthrough results for his clients. He first traveled with GOOD Travel to Tanzania in 2017 where he facilitated an inspirational creativity workshop on the shores of the Indian ocean. He looks forward to sharing this experience in Hawaii with you and making this trip unforgettable!
