The following itinerary provides an outline of our trip intentions, but some activities may be adjusted a little. You will be provided with a full welcome pack including a detailed itinerary closer to our departure date.
September 23rd: On arrival at Keflavik international airport, you'll be met by a representative from GOOD Travel and taken to Blue Lagoon. We recommend arriving into Keflavik around midday to give you time to soak in the thermal waters and wash away your journey. In the evening, we'll have a special welcome dinner and trip briefing overlooking the Blue Lagoon.
September 24th: We'll begin the day by traveling for a couple of hours along the coast, taking in the beautiful sites and stopping for lunch along the way. Once we arrive at our accommodation in rural Iceland, we will spend the rest of the day taking part in Baron Wright's creativity workshop.
September 25th: We'll take a short drive to Sólheimajökull for a glacier hike! We'll hike through ice sculptures, crevasses, streams, and rock formations. No words can do this experience justice. We'll then drive for a couple of hours to Solheimar eco-village for a much-deserved dinner! This eco-village is a world renowned sustainable community known for its artistic and ecological initiatives.
September 26th: After a leisurely breakfast, we'll head to a 'secreet' lagoon for a dip! After lunch at a local farm, we'll visit the iconic Gullfoss waterfall as well as the Geysir Hot Spring Area with boiling mud pits, exploding geysers and the lively Strokkur which spouts water into the air every few minutes.
September 27th: Today we'll explore Þingvellir national park, a site of historical, cultural, and geological significance. We'll then head to Reykjavik, the country's capital and largest city for a special farewell dinner.
September 28th: Farewell Iceland! We recommend departing Iceland in the afternoon to give you time to explore Reykjavik in the morning. Alternatively, if you wish to stay an extra night or two in Reykjavik, please let us know and we'll be happy to help you arrange this.
This trip has been carefully designed to ensure that the local community, environment and economy benefit from your visit. We'll be staying in a range of sustainable accommodations, including a farm in rural Iceland, an eco-village and a hotel with a strong focus on sustainability. Our tours will all be organised by companies that share our values for social, environmental and economic GOOD. In addition, $100 of your trip fee will go directly towards supporting a project at Solheimar eco-village. You will have the opportunity to stay at the village and learn about their work during this trip.
The trip will be led by artist Baron Wright and Erin Carnes from GOOD Travel. In addition, a number of experienced local guides will be involved in various aspects of the trip.
