Tuesday May 14th: Arrival in Nairobi
On arrival in Nairobi, you will be met by a representative of GOOD Travel and taken to your accommodation for the chance to relax after your long journey. In the evening, we’ll have a welcome cocktail and dinner!
Wednesday May 15th: Workshop and giraffe center
The day will begin with a welcome meeting followed by your first workshop from CreateX Consulting. In the afternoon, we will head to Nairobi’s giraffe center to learn about their work protecting the world’s tallest yet endangered animal, the giraffe. With a bit of luck, you might even get a kiss from a giraffe!
Thursday May 16th: Travel to Maasai Mara
After a leisurely breakfast, we will drive for approximately 5-6 hours to the Maasai Mara. While driving we will enjoy breathtaking views including that of the Great Rift Valley and also Mount Suswa and Mount Longonot.
Friday May 17th: Safari
You’ll have the morning to relax and enjoy the camp where we’re staying. In the afternoon, we will head out on a game drive. Your game drive will be led by Maasai guides who will introduce you to life in the savanna and share their infinite knowledge about African wildlife.
Saturday May 18th: Community day
We will spend the day visiting a local Maasai community. You will visit places like the local schools, health centers, homesteads as well as the market. In addition, you’ll learn about ancient traditions as well as contemporary struggles and adaptations to modern life. You will also have the opportunity to learn about how the donation included in your trip fee is being used to support the community.
Sunday May 19th: Workshop and return to Nairobi
After an inspiring morning workshop with CreateX Consulting, we will take a short flight of approximately 45 minutes back to Nairobi. In the evening, we will celebrate with a special farewell dinner in Nairobi.
Monday May 20th: Departure day
The trip ends here in Nairobi. If you wish to stay for some additional days, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help you make arrangements.
This trip has been developed in partnership with a local tourism organization specialized in responsible tourism. They have won numerous awards for their efforts promoting responsible tourism, including The Green World Award and the African Responsible Tourism Award. They have planted more than 70,000 indigenous trees and they are involved in several community programs with the aim of empowering local people through capacity building, awareness raising, and vocational training. In addition, $100 of your trip fee will go directly towards supporting a local project, which you'll have the opportunity to visit during this trip.
The trip will be led by Lis Stevens from CreateX Consulting & Retreats and Caitie Goddard from GOOD Travel. In addition, we will work with several local Maasai guides throughout the trip.
In the US and abroad, soprano Elisabeth Stevens is hailed for her elegant artistry, majestic presence, and powerful voice. She has appeared on world stages with credits that include the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Teatro Verdi di Sassari, the Metropolitan Opera and more. Lis is an expert technician with a thriving private studio in Manhattan. In the summertime, you can catch her in Italy at the International Lyric Academy teaching voice lessons and master classes to aspiring young artists. Her New York based voice studio, Studio LIS hosts a regular series of empowering workshops for artists of all levels. She has served on the faculty at Lincoln University, and the Studio LIS workshops and master classes have been featured at Penn State University, Queens College, University of Wisconsin and other institutions.
With all of her accomplishments, Lis is clear that everything we want in our lives is within our grasp if we simply CHOOSE to have it. Through her coaching, Lis's clients have established careers as opera singers, Broadway performers, television and movie actors, real estate investors, financial service providers, entrepreneurs -- and many other things. She believes that if people -- regardless of their profession -- Learn the technical, creative and practical elements of our craft and business, and trust our personal Intuition, we are bound to Succeed.

Caitie is GOOD Travel's co-founder and director of communications. She loves traveling the world with GOOD Travel and creating unforgettably GOOD experiences for our trip participants. She can't wait to share this adventure in Kenya with you!
In addition to her work at GOOD Travel, Caitie leads the Collaborative Innovation and Capacity Building Program at Global Knowledge Initiative (GKI). Prior to GKI, Caitie was the Co-founder of the IC3 Academy, an academy for social entrepreneurs, and the Executive Director of the GVN Foundation. Caitie holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Detroit-Mercy and a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan. In her free time, Caitie is an Instructor for the University for Peace Centre for Executive Education and teachers the capstone course for their Diploma in Social Innovation.
