What's GOOD about this trip?

This trip has been carefully designed to ensure that the local community, environment and economy benefit from your visit.

Hotel in Dar es Salaam: Our hotel in Dar es Salaam provides ongoing support to Reach for a Dream Foundation, makes donations towards emergency appeals, encourages all staff to get involved in community development programs, serves fair trade coffee, and has a long-term sustainability strategy.

Tour in Dar es Salaam: During our stay in Dar es Salaam, we will visit the city with Investours Tanzania. Lodge in Zanzibar: Our lodge in Zanzibar has received numerous awards acknowledging their efforts towards being a leader in sustainable tourism. They were the winner under the sustainability category of the Boutique Hotel Awards for the region of Africa and they are a ‘sapling level’ operator under Responsible Tourism Tanzania. Taking care of the natural and social environment is key to their philosophy. The lodge was designed to blend into the surroundings and they proactively protect the resident animals, including the rare red colobus monkeys, the black tail monkeys, elephant shrew, butterflies and birds. They also contribute to the village by supporting the local school, a waste control program and the local football team.

Community project in Zanzibar: $100 of your trip fee will be donated to Twin Hearts to support a local project in Zanzibar. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the community project you are supporting during your stay in Zanzibar.
