The following itinerary provides an outline of our trip intentions, but some activities may be adjusted a little. You will be provided with a full welcome pack including a detailed itinerary closer to our departure date.
24 September: On arrival at Keflavik international airport, you'll be met by a representative from GOOD Travel and taken to Blue Lagoon. We recommend arriving into Keflavik around midday to give you time to soak in the thermal waters and wash away your journey. In the evening, we'll have a welcome dinner and trip briefing.
25 September: After a leisurely breakfast, we'll travel for a couple of hours along the coast, taking in the beautiful sites along the way. Once we arrive at our accommodation in rural Iceland, we will take part in Baron's first creativity workshop.
26 September: We'll take a short drive to Sólheimajökull for a glacier hike! We'll hike through ice sculptures, crevasses, streams, and rock formations. No words can do this experience justice. We'll then drive for a couple of hours to Solheimar eco-village for a much-deserved dinner! This eco-village is a world renowned sustainable community known for its artistic and ecological initiatives.
27 September: After an inspiring morning workshop with Baron, we'll visit the iconic Gullfoss waterfall. We'll then have lunch at a local farm before heading to a 'secreet' lagoon for a dip!
28 September: Today we'll explore Þingvellir national park, a site of historical, cultural, and geological significance. We'll then head to Reykjavik, the country's capital and largest city for a special farewell dinner.
29 September: Farewell Iceland! We recommend departing Iceland in the afternoon to give you time to explore Reykjavik in the morning. Alternatively, if you wish to stay an extra night or two in Reykjavik, please let us know and we'll be happy to help you arrange this.
This trip has been carefully designed to ensure that the local community, environment and economy benefit from your visit. We'll be staying in a range of sustainable accommodations, including a farmstay, an eco-village and a hotel with a strong focus on sustainability. Our tours will all be organised by companies that share our values for social, environmental and economic GOOD. In addition, $100 of your trip fee will go directly towards supporting a local project. You will have the opportunity to visit this project and learn about their work during this trip.
The trip will be led by artist Baron Wright and Eliza Raymond from GOOD Travel. In addition, a number of experienced local guides will be involved in various aspects of the trip.
